You can delete your DroneChecker account and its associated data at any time. There are two ways to do it, and you do not need an account to read this page or to make a request.
This is immediate and needs no waiting on us.
The deletion screen also offers a tick box to remove your Flying Spots, reviews and photos at the same time — see “What you can choose to keep or remove” below.
If you can no longer sign in, or would rather we did it, email bbridgewater.dev@gmail.com from the address associated with your account, with the subject “Delete my DroneChecker account”.
We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days, and normally much sooner. If you email from a different address we may ask you a question or two to confirm the account is yours, so that nobody else can delete it.
Deleting your account permanently removes:
By default, Flying Spots, reviews and photos you have contributed are kept, because other pilots still rely on them and they are not tied to your name once your account is gone. The account deletion screen offers a tick box to delete all of them permanently instead, and you can ask us to remove a specific submission at any time by email.
Feedback you have sent us is also kept unless you ask for it to be removed, or tick the relevant box during deletion.
Free features need no account, so in most cases there is nothing on our servers to delete — your settings, checklist and flight log live only on your device, and clearing the app’s data removes them. Two optional exceptions: feedback you have sent us, and the weekly flying alert if you switched it on. Turning the alert off deletes its record; for feedback, email us.
What happens depends on how you paid.
By card, or through Google Play. Deleting your account cancels your subscription automatically — you do not need to do anything first. If we cannot confirm the cancellation went through, we stop and tell you instead of deleting your account, so you are never left paying for an account that no longer exists.
Through Apple, on iPhone or iPad. You need to cancel this one yourself. Apple does not allow us to cancel a subscription on your behalf, so an Apple subscription keeps billing you even after your account is deleted. Cancel it on your device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → DroneChecker → Cancel Subscription.
