Flying conditions to expect
- The gritstone edges sit exposed above the surrounding valleys, so expect a bigger jump between valley and edge-top wind than a town-centre forecast alone suggests
- The dales along the Monsal Trail are far more sheltered and often flyable when the exposed edges above them aren't
- Weather can turn on the open moorland faster than in the wooded valleys below it
